Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DBT project entitled “Determination the role of (Cysteine- Rich Secretory Proteins, Antigen 5, and Pathogenesis-Related 1 Proteins (CAP) during Arachis- Bradyrhizobium symbiosis”, under the supervision of Dr. Senjuti SinhaRoy, Scientist, NIPGR.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (one Post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT/Institute norms and as sanctioned in the project.

Essential Qualification: Candidate selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019/ Institute norms and/or having M.Sc. degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Bioinformatics are eligible for interview. Candidate having prior work experience in RNAseq data analysis will be given preference.


The fellowship amount for the above position is at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT or as sanctioned in the project. The above position is completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving on month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the two positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Institute with Dr. Amar Pal Singh, Scientist, NIPGR. One JRF position in the scheme of “Short-Term Research Fellowship” programme and one JRF in a DBT funded project “Understanding hormonal regulation of root growth plasticity to increase plant productivity under low nitrogen availability in tomato (Solanum Lycopersicum)”. These positions are completely on temporary basis. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate/fund availability and discretion of the Competent Authority. The details of the position are as under:

Name of Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 02 posts.

Eligibility: Candidate having a M.Sc./M.Tech degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry with at least 55% (or equivalent) marks in the master’s degree. Prior work experience in plant molecular biology, plant tissue culture, protein expression in bacteria is highly desirable.

The Fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. (A)      SERB project entitled Biological Invasion: Linking Phytochemical Dynamics of India’s Most Aggressive Plant Invader to Genomic Adaptations".

Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019/ Institute norms and/or having Masters or equivalent interdisciplinary Degree in Environment/Ecology/Life Sciences/Bioinformatics or any other related field with at least two years of post-Masters  research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate having experience in the area of molecular biology techniques and/or computational biology will be prefered.


(B)       CSIR project entitled "Characterization of 3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl co-enzyme A reductase (HMGR) gene family in Cicer arietinum, and its role in abiotic stress".

Junior Research Fellow (One post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT/Institute norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019/ Institute norms and/or having M.Sc. or equivalent in Life Sciences/Bioinformatics or any other related field with relevant experience are eligible to apply. Candidate having experience in the area of computational biology and plant molecular biology techniques will be prefered.


The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above positions are at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT or as sanctioned in the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. Post Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) (One post): Consolidated Emoluments:  60000 per month.

Candidates having Ph.D. Degree with relevant research experience in Life Sciences/Bioinformatics/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science or a related field are eligible to apply. The candidate should have first class/division throughout academic career. Preference will be given to the candidates having prior experience in the area of next-generation sequencing data analysis, bioinformatics, molecular analysis of plant genes and webserver development. Candidates with expertise in photosynthesis and algal biology are also encouraged to apply.
